No. L42025Civil-rights companion for encounters with authorities

Live

Firewatch

A free app that helps people know their rights, document an encounter safely and reach legal help fast. It works offline and in more than a dozen languages.

Three screens of Firewatch - the scenario simulator, the incident report and hotlines, and the guide with its legal notice

Know Your Script gives exact phrases to use, such as asking whether you are being detained or are free to go, alongside a state-by-state recording-law check, an incident checklist and a legal jargon buster. A one-tap panic mode is on the home screen. An incident report builder turns the details into a report you can copy and send, next to rapid-call legal hotlines. A scenario simulator lets people practise traffic stops, workplace raids and home visits before they ever face one, and an AI area scan searches for recent civil-rights events nearby. It is educational, not legal advice, and says so plainly.
